I’d love it if there were a forum here on the website to discuss the book and this belief. It would draw a lot of people to the website and it would cause it to rank well with search engines. After reading the book, I have some questions I’d like to ask, but I don’t want to bother the author. For instance, I’m still confused on what the author believes “spiritual fire” is, and how it works. Also, what is this spiritual fire for believers? I’m interested in some speculation mixed with some scripture that might shed light on what could be in store for Christians like myself. I like to know what to tell people if they ask, even if it’s theoretical and expressed as such.

Hi Gerry. Your probably way ahead of me on this, but I stumbled on to something in my research today. I found out that in Jeremiah’s day, when the Israelites were still sacrificing babies in Gehenna, that when the outsiders took over Jerusalem (as he prophesied), that Gehenna was so full of ash and human remains, that when it rained, the water formed a stream. They referred to it as ‘the ravine of fire’. This ravine washed out to the Dead Sea, which from what I understand, they called ‘the lake of fire’. I thought this was extremely interesting. It seems that our mistranslation of hell is somehow complimenting preterist eschatology. Or at least some kind of eschatology.

Your book is amazing and has been so comforting during an extremely difficult time in our lives! Even though my husband and I had come to understand, and embrace The Blessed Hope, we were still finding it hard to rid ourselves of a few lingering doubts and questions. Your book helped us resolve some of the issues we still had.
God set us on a journey about seven years ago. I had grown up in a denomination that taught you could lose your salvation. We raised our children in Southern Baptist, but I was almost fifty years old before I was able to reject the belief I grew up with. About two years ago, I heard a S.D.A. minister on television teaching on Annilationism. It made so much more sense than Eternal Hell. I embraced this idea gladly, until our twenty-eight year old daughter told us she had adopted. the lesbian lifestyle. We were distraught. I resumed my search on what happens after death, because I was desperate to know she would not suffer eternally… This is when I ran across Gary Amerault’s website, tentmaker.org. I was actually fearful of the teaching to begin with, but I kept returning to this site. Over time, God opened our hearts to accept this glorious truth! Our journey was a process, but we received what we needed just in time…
Six weeks ago today, our youngest son, Jared, took his own life. He was an army veteran, struggling with PTSD…
We are broken hearted. We are devastated. The pain would be more than we could live with except for this one thing; I know my son is with my Father, Who loves Him, and that we will be together again.
